Andy Alexander

Andrew (Andy) Alexander is Chairman of Alexander Properties Group, Inc., a full service real estate company specializing in the management, acquisition, and brokerage of multi-family properties.

Andy has been in the real estate industry since 1977. He started as an investment broker with Ackerman & Company. After forming his own company in 1982, Andy consolidated all the corporate operations into Alexander Properties Group, Inc. in 1988.

Andy has personally handled the transaction of over $350,000,000 of investment real estate in the last ten years. He is licensed in the states of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. He attended Mercer University and Georgia State University.

Andy has developed a tremendous network, which has allowed APG to successfully market investments after the management's completion of its value added capital improvement program.

Pete Alexander

Peter (Pete) Alexander is the Vice Chairman of Alexander Properties Group, Inc. He has been active in real estate in Atlanta since 1980. The past several years, Pete has been exclusively responsible for the administration and disbursement of over $17,000,000 in capital improvements. The scope of these asset and value enhancement programs include the following:

  • Roof installation and replacement
  • Parking lot repair, refinish, and resealing
  • Full exterior paint programs.
  • Wood siding repair and replacement.
  • Interior renovations.
  • Amenity installation and repair: i.e. Jacuzzi, indoor lap pool, tennis courts, outdoor pools, playgrounds.-Clubhouse remodeling
  • Signage redesign and replacement.
  • Foundation and structural repair.
  • Gas Conversion from landlord paid to resident paid.
  • Complete electrical service upgrade to individual units.
  • Heating and air conditioning equipment installation.
  • Conversion of community boiler system to individual hot water heaters.

Pete graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Georgia in 1980.

Mary Beth Nicholas

Mary Beth Nicholas is the President of Asset Management/CFO for Alexander Properties Group, Inc. She has been in operations/management in the hotel/restaurant industry from 1983 to 1996. In addition, Mary Beth was a financial analyst for Keebler Foods for three years before joining APG in 1999 as Controller. She was promoted to Vice-President of Finance and Accounting in 2004 and to her current position in 2006.

Mary Beth has experience in management accounting with an emphasis on cash management, financial statement preparation, internal controls and auditing procedures.

Mary Beth is a graduate of Salisbury State University in Maryland with a B.S. in Finance.

Jim Cherry

Jim Cherry, Director of Acquisitions and Finance for Alexander Properties Group, was formerly the chief operating officer of Products, Inc.; one of the largest and most prestigious condominium conversion companies in the country. Founded by Warren Avis, of rental car renown fame, had successful conversions in several states including Michigan, Maryland, Texas, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, and New York. He has been involved in all facets of the multi-family industry for over 25 years. He purchased over $1,000,000,000 in real estate, primarily multi-family, as General Partner of the Hall Real Estate Group. He also developed the Largo West, a mixed-use development in Plantation, Florida and built two condominium buildings at Villas on the Green in Jupiter, Florida. In 1993, Jim completed a $1,000,000 rehab of an Atlanta apartment community for a Midwest Savings and Loan. In 1995, he liquidated an Atlanta based single-family developer.

Jim is a graduate of Xavier University and the University of Detroit. He is a licensed general contractor in the State of Florida.

Amy Scoggins

Amy Scoggins, Regional Vice President, has experience in the multi-family industry since 1988. Amy has a proven track record regarding maximizing net operating income through high occupancy, aggressive rents and extraordinary resident retention. Amy has experience in almost every major market in the southeast. Amy holds an Associates of Art degree in Interior Design.

Amy has had experience in all product types from A to D and all markets. The diversity has allowed her the opportunity to develop and improve the marketing and training plans for many different areas. Amy has experience in both owner managed portfolios as well as a background in the REIT environment. She has developed marketing and training strategies for portfolios exceeding seventy plus properties and has successfully spearheaded the marketing efforts for under-performing sites to reach and exceed their occupancy and income goals.

Prior to joining Alexander Properties Group, Amy was the Senior Director of Marketing and Training for AIMCO, an apartment investment and management company for the Atlanta region. She was overseeing seventy properties in this region, which encompassed the entire Southeast.

Carla Wiliams

Carla Williams is the Human Resource Generalist for Alexander Properties Group, Inc. She earned her Master’s degree in Human Resource and Organizational Development from the University of Georgia with a focus in Training and Development.

Prior to joining Alexander Properties, she worked in the airline and hospitality industries. Her responsibilities at APG include employee relations, recruiting, performance management, team building, and leadership development.

Carla is a member of the National and Atlanta Chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society for Training and Development.

Michelle Wood

Michelle Wood is the Benefits and Payroll Coordinator for Alexander Properties Group, Inc. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee. She completed a Certificate of Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix.

Michelle has been with Alexander Properties since December, 1998. She began her career as a Human Resource Assistant working in the Atlanta corporate office. She was promoted to Benefits and Payroll Coordinator in May, 2006.

Her responsibilities at APG include coordinating all employee benefits, COBRA, payroll, commissions, and other special projects within the company.
